Catie and Kevin’s wedding at Artifact Events in Chicago was a day I’ll always treasure being a part of. I first met the Gallagher (Kevin’s) fam back in 2019 when I shot his sister Lauren’s wedding, and since then, I’ve also shot Catie and Kevin’s proposal and their engagement photos, so it’s safe to say I’ve been looking forward to their big day for a long time. They’re both the absolute sweetest souls, and to witness the way they love each other is nothing short of amazing.

I felt extra lucky it worked out for me to be their photographer because when they first reached out about their October date after locking it in with their venue, I was holding all my September and October 2022 dates in case my (then) boyfriend proposed—because that was the time of year we had always talked about getting married ourselves. I told them “I’m going to open up my calendar for next October on October 1st if he hasn’t proposed by then” and they said they were good with waiting to see. Lo and behold, he did end up proposing on September 30th—a day to spare lol—and we ended up going with a September date so October 8th was all for Kevin and Catie!

It was a day filled with so many beautiful moments, but some of my very favorites to witness and capture were:

their first look: the absolute cutest first look ever, Kevin took one look at Catie and immediately started crying (and couldn’t stop even after they got on the trolley 10 mins later 😭😭😭)
their private vows right before their ceremony; some of the most beautifully written and delivered vows I’ve ever heard, just for each other’s ears (well, and the photo and video teams’)
watching Catie walk in her dress lol. The most iconic but classic dress that just bounced perfectly with every step she took!!!
all the toasts at the reception. Beautifully written things were a theme of the day because the way everyone talked about the two of them as individuals + as a couple perfectly encompassed what I’ve learned about them in the short amount of time I’ve know them. They are just the perfect pair and I couldn’t be happier for the two of them to have found each other 🤍
