I genuinely love what I do and feel so lucky that my career combines so many things I cherish in this life: celebrations, love in all its forms, helping people see the beauty in themselves and in their relationships, evenings spent on the Chicago lakefront, travel, and cake.
Apart from taking photos of couples in love, I like to spend my free time trying new recipes (mostly pasta dishes or anything with lots of sugar or garlic), checking out new restaurants around Chicago to find the best food and drinks, and waiting for One Direction to get back together.
I love my husband and dog Coda more than anything, fall easily in love with book + TV characters, and feel most alive when I jump into Lake Michigan off the lakefront trail.

My favorite thing to do on an evening or weekend off is: ride my bike to Lake Michigan to have a picnic or read a fantasy romance novel. And if it's late summertime, finishing that off with a dip in the lake!

I can be *quite* easily convinced to book a last minute trip because traveling to new places (abroad and domestically) is one of my favorite things. Internationally, I’ve been lucky enough to travel to England, France, Germany, India, Argentina, Peru, Colombia, Mexico, Ireland, Scotland, Greece, Italy, Costa Rica, and Chile.
My favorite feeling in the world is: jumping into the ocean (or sea or lake or any other large body of water)

She does the best job of being present with you, making sure you're all good and are getting everything you need, while also blending into the event to snap all the details you worked so hard on and moments you might have missed… I cannot express enough how impressed I am with Marissa and the photos she delivered to us. My husband's brothers hadn't even seen any of the photos when they told me they wanted her at their weddings too. She has a great energy and delivers an amazing product. I don't know what good juju helped us find her in the vast expanse of the internet to capture the best day of my life, but I'm so thankful we found her. She's simply the best.

Where should I even start with the greatest photographer on earth? I’m writing this the morning after my wedding because I knew I wanted this to be fresh.
