Andi and Doug got married on both a rainy and sunny June day in Madison, Wisconsin and their wedding day was a joy to be the photographer for. Between their Chicago engagement session, a yoga couples shoot we did for fun in the winter when I felt like being creative and trying something new, and meeting over coffees at La Colombe to go over their final timeline for the day, I’ve grown to just adore these two and their relationship. I love the way Doug is a rock and calming energy for Andi, and the way he looks and smiles at her with such a tenderness in his eyes.
Apart from them being an amazing duo and couple, they also planned a darn beautiful wedding. If you know me, you know I’m a sucker for colorful florals and details on a wedding day, so Andi’s pink, yellow, and green palette had me giddy all day! Some other favorite moments to capture from their day were:
• Watching Andi hold her mom’s hand the whole limo bus ride over to the venue/first look. Andi didn’t want to wrinkle her dress by sitting so she stayed standing and her mom held on the whole way to make sure she didn’t fall.
• Their first look and private vow reading to follow. Such an intimate and beautiful way to start their day together off!
• The moment immediately after walking up the aisle when they turned the corner behind the curtain and had a moment to kiss again/hug/look at each other like “we just got married!!!” before their wedding party joined them.
• Golden. Hour. One of the most magical ones I’ve ever captured, there’s nothing like a Midwest summer golden hour!
• Them listening to their people give toasts. All the laughs and tears during Andi’s dad’s, her maid of honor’s, and Doug’s best man’s.
• Andi coming back onto the dance floor in her reception dress to One Direction’s “Best Song Ever” and jamming out with her best friend to it. They went to four 1D concerts back in the day so you already know I found my people!!
