Meghan and Quinn’s wedding day at Walden Chicago was a dream in every way. I’d been looking forward to their October wedding for almost a year (after I met them for their engagement session in fall of 2020); partly because they’re such a joy to be around and photograph, partly because Walden is one of my very favorite venues in the whole Chicagoland area, and partly because I knew Quinn was going to be rocking a custom-made maroon suit and I couldn’t wait to see it lol.
They started the day off at Walden in their respective getting ready spaces, and after a morning filled with hair + makeup and detail shots, it was time for Meghan to get into her stunning Made with Love dress from Bella Bleu Bridal and Quinn to get into his custom suit from BALANI Custom Clothiers. Once they were wedding-day ready, they did their first look up on the roof—with the Chicago skyline and blue skies as a backdrop—before we headed over to Union Station for family and wedding party photos! Next up was their ceremony at Holy Family Church where they said “I do” and became husband and wife in front of all their friends and family, and then we bopped back to Walden for a few more photos and video footage on the roof before it was time for the real party to start.
As always, it’s hard to narrow it down but my top three favorite parts of their wedding day were:
All the unique little details these two included in their day, like Quinn wearing a little golden rose pin instead of a floral boutonniere, their seating chart/tables being names after all their favorite breweries, and the “guest book” being a corn hole/bags game repping their college logo instead of an actual book to sign. Also Meghan absolutely ROCKED a floating pearl hairdo; I’d never seen such a thing but she said she saw it once on Instagram and wanted to try it out for herself. Safe to say I’m obsessed!
Witnessing all the first looks between Meghan and her friends, her dad, and Quinn. All three were such beautiful moments and I’ll never take for granted being able to photograph the emotion of first looks on wedding days.
For my third, I’m torn between my answer being taking photos of them eating Dipsy Desserts ice cream pops in front of their custom neon sign (Eat, Drink and Be Murray) instead of cutting a cake for dessert OR taking photos of them jamming out to their live band! So let’s just say reception moments!!!
