Iowa City fall engagement photos!? Say no more, those are three of my favorite things on this earth (fall, Iowa City, and engagement photos if that wasn’t clear HAHA). I’ve loved every single engagement session I’ve ever done, but the ones I get to do for people I know always feel so special in their own way. Julissa was a senior in high school when I was a wee little freshman; she was the lone senior on our volleyball team that year (coached by her dad!! s/o Ruben) and was SO kind to all six or seven of us freshmen that dressed varsity that year. We also worked together at the good old Kimberly Park Pool in West Liberty, but I hadn’t seen her in a few years before the day of their session which made it so fun for me to meet Phil and to see how perfectly goofy they are together. 

We started out their session at Wilson’s Apple Orchard outside of Iowa City and got our fall photo fix, complete with pumpkins, some beautiful October light and Julissa’s chic fall outfits. After that, we headed out to Lake MacBride for a change of scenery where the backdrop for their last outfit was a perfect cotton candy sky (complete with a crescent moon).
