Kristin and Alex’s Positano elopement was everything an elopement day on the Amalfi Coast should be.

Getting to be there photographer came from a sort of crazy twist of events—starting with Kristin messaging me on Instagram to ask a question about planning their elopement in Italy because she knew I had hosted my last Something New Retreat in Positano, to me replying “let me know if you need a photographer!” to them already having someone booked, to that other photographer no longer being able to travel because she found out she was pregnant, to ME sharing that I was also pregnant but very down and able to travel lol, to hopping on a call with Kristin to chat through what the day could look like, to them booking me about a month out, to helping plan their perfect day thanks to all the knowledge I’d gained planning my retreat there—but it all felt SO meant to be watching their day come together.

Some of my very favorite moments to photograph and witness were:

  • The morning spent writing their vows together over coffee and some pastries and tiramisu; I had sent Kristin a similar photo I’d seen on Instagram of a couple writing their vows together the morning of their elopement over coffee, and she replied telling me that her and Alex met as baristas at Starbucks so coffee is a huge part of their story and they definitely wanted to start the day like this.
  • Walking down to the boat pickup (stairs on stairs on stairs! It wouldn’t be a Positano elopement without them) and then the midday/early afternoon spent on the boat. How cool that they could spend a few hours of the day they got married on a boat soaking in the sights of the Amalfi Coast!?
  • Getting ready after the boat at their Airbnb. They both got ready there and when it was time to get picked up to head to the first look/photo spot, Kristin had Alex wear a blindfold so he could still ride with us in the van hahahah. Such a champ because if you know those Positano windy roads… you know that can’t have been fun in a blindfold.
  • Their first look followed by portrait time. Look at that light and need I say more??
  • And finally, their ceremony and exchanging of vows and rings back at their Airbnb. Intimate and perfect in every way.

Thank you so much, Kristin and Alex, for bringing me to Italy to be a part of the day. I’ll never forget it.
