Thomas and Mikaila’s graduation-slash-couples session was my very first Chicago session back since early February because of COVID-19 and it felt so, so good to get out and shoot again. Apart from having the most perfect weather and evening light, downtown Chicago was as empty as I’ve ever seen it on a summer evening (especially near the Wrigley Building which is pretty much unheard of!) because everything was still closed down. This meant we were able to get some cool shots in the middle of the street—and we also didn’t have to stop every few minutes to let people pass on the bridge like a typical downtown Chicago engagement session haha!!
Mikaila (queen of the Mia Thermopolis foot pop) is also a Wisconsin and Chicago wedding photographer so I was extra honored that she chose me to take their photos. She also left the sweetest review before I even delivered their final gallery of pictures!
“Seriously, if you’re looking for somebody who is not only a wizard behind the camera.. but an extremely caring, hilarious, and wonderful human to be your photographer, Marissa is IT! As a photographer myself, It was a tough decision to choose somebody to document my boyfriend and I’s graduation/couple photos. Marissa made it SO easy for me to decide to choose her from the moment I slid in her DM’s on Instagram lol. She is not only super professional but also somebody I would love to grab a beer and hangout with (which will be happening soon!!!) These photos we will cherish forever. ❤️ I will definitely be hiring Marissa for my future photo needs. Thanks girl!!!”
