I’m so, so excited to share these photos from Clancy and Mitch’s Iowa City engagement session!! These two are some of the kindest humans I’ve ever met and they have such a beautiful love that made taking their pictures so easy. We met up at Hamburg Inn in the Northside neighborhood of Iowa City—just a few blocks from my parents’ new place!! While Clancy was in college at the University of Iowa, Mitch was drafted to play professional baseball for the Pittsburgh Pirates, so they were doing a long distance relationship for a whole lot of years!! Breakfast dates have always been their go-to, so what better way to commemorate this than taking some engagement photos at one of their favorite diners they’d always visit when Mitch was in town!?

After chatting for a while over coffees and a chocolate bourbon pecan pie shake at Hamburg (oh and taking photos!) we headed to our second location where they changed into the most amazing outfits: a beautiful white dress for Clancy and a sa-weet purple suit jacket for Mitch!! Fun fact about this second location—I took a bunch of the fluffy weed things and still have them in a vase in my office almost five months later!! I call it my knockoff pampas grass hahaha but it’s the perfect reminder of how lucky I am to work with couples like Clancy and Mitch every time I walk into my office.

I’m so excited to take more photos of Clancy in a white dress and Mitch in a stylish suit this November on their wedding day at Little Lights on the Lane in West Branch. But until then, scroll on down to see these cuties cuddled up in a Hamburg booth and at the knockoff pampas grass field 🙂
