Name a better way to spend a May evening working in Chicago than taking some editorial engagement photos for a beautiful/adorable/kind couple… I’ll wait! I first took photos for Lauren and Oliver two years ago right before they moved from Chicago to Seattle, so it was beyond special to be able to take their engagement photos to commemorate this special stage of life they’re in now.

When Lauren first reached out, she said they were hoping to lean into a more editorial/filmy/artistic vibe for their photos so they would look different than what we took two years ago (since they chose similar locations as last time). Which was music to my ears as—unbeknownst to her—I was right in the middle of working on my rebrand where I had told my amazing brand + website designer, Patricia of Studio Dukesa, that I wanted to focus my future work more on the photos that make you feel something. It felt so good to get creative and play with lighting, shadows, and posing during Lauren and Oliver’s session!!
